Ravencoin (RVN) suffered a significant drop to a new all-time low on Wednesday, hitting $0.002754 as an exploited consensus vulnerability left transactions at risk and prompted exchanges to suspend RVN transfers.

The price of RVN plummeted by 22% from its 24-hour high of $0.003529, with trading volume climbing above $18 million before easing to around $9.6 million.

Ravencoin stated that an exploited consensus vulnerability caused vulnerable nodes to accept invalid blocks, with the first known instance appearing at height 4,487,776 on Friday.

Mining pools 2Miners and RavenMiner, which control a majority of the network's hash rate, are building a competing chain that excludes the exploited branch from block 4,487,775 onward.
