RBC Expands Bitcoin Exposure Through $4.45M Strategy Stake
The Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) has expanded its stake in Strategy, a prominent Bitcoin treasury company. The bank acquired an additional 46,001 shares of Strategy (ticker: MSTR), valued at approximately $4.45 million. This brings RBC's total position to 385,002 shares worth roughly $37.2 million.
RBC's latest purchase follows its earlier expansion in the first quarter of this year, when it added 295,829 MSTR shares. The incremental buy underscores a broader trend of institutional investors using MSTR as a proxy for Bitcoin exposure due to Strategy's substantial corporate Bitcoin holdings.
Strategy, formerly MicroStrategy, has become one of the largest corporate holders of Bitcoin. By investing in MSTR, institutions like RBC can gain indirect exposure to Bitcoin's price movements without directly holding the digital asset.
