Realio Network Chain Halted Amid $124M RIO Token Heist
Realio Network, a layer-one blockchain platform focused on tokenized real-world assets, has suspended its chain and restricted access to its web application after approximately 124.4 million RIO tokens were stolen.
The majority of the stolen tokens, around 113.7 million RIO, were held by the Realio Foundation and had not been part of the previously reported circulating supply.
An additional 10.7 million RIO, representing roughly 3.3% of the prior circulating supply, was taken directly from user accounts.
Realio's decision to halt the chain and block web app access appears aimed at preventing further losses and allowing time for investigation, but no compensation plan or custody measures have been announced yet.
