Record Quarter for American Bitcoin: 932 BTC Mined Amid Ongoing Losses
American Bitcoin, the institutional miner backed by the Trump family, has reported its Q2 2025 results. The company mined a record 932 BTC, exceeding its previous best quarter since inception. This significant output drove mining revenues up by 8% compared to the previous quarter.
The notable performance is primarily driven by a substantial increase in deployed hash rate, with American Bitcoin accelerating the rollout of high-performance ASIC machines. In contrast to major listed miners like Marathon Digital and CleanSpark, which also posted record production quarters but against a backdrop of margin compression, American Bitcoin's revenue growth has yet to translate into profitability.
Despite narrowing net losses compared to the previous quarter, American Bitcoin did not reach breakeven in Q2 2025. The company's business model relies on an implicit bet that the price of BTC will continue rising enough to absorb high fixed costs associated with new equipment purchases and energy consumption.
