RedotPay Sued by Binance-Linked Entities Amid Fintech Recognition
RedotPay's recent recognition as one of CNBC's top fintech companies has been overshadowed by a lawsuit filed by Binance-affiliated entities. The company was included in the World's Top Fintech Companies 2026 list on July 22, but just days later, a lawsuit seeking nearly $473 million in damages was filed in Hong Kong.
The lawsuit claims that RedotPay co-founders diverted over 470,000 users to their platform, resulting in claimed losses of approximately $472.8 million. In response, RedotPay stated that the lawsuit would have no impact on its day-to-day operations and that it is vigorously defending all claims.
Despite the legal pressure, RedotPay's business performance has remained strong, with the company reporting a record for on-chain spending by its users in the past month. The company also noted that most of its growth has come organically through word of mouth, with users increasingly relying on stablecoins for everyday payments and protection against inflation.
The outcome of this lawsuit remains to be seen, but it is clear that RedotPay's recent recognition has been overshadowed by the controversy surrounding the company's business practices.
