RedStone Unleashes Tool to Unlock Idle RWA Assets Worth Over $30B
RedStone Settle, a new DeFi tool from decentralized oracle provider RedStone, aims to unlock over $30 billion in idle tokenized real-world assets (RWAs). The product addresses the structural incompatibility that has blocked most tokenized assets from participating in live lending markets.
The problem lies in the timing mismatch between lending platforms and tokenized assets. Lending platforms like Aave require near-instant liquidations to manage collateral risk, while tokenized assets have redemption periods of 60 to 180 days.
RedStone Settle introduces an on-chain auction mechanism that activates when a liquidation event occurs. This allows liquidity providers to step in and purchase positions immediately, giving lending protocols the liquidity they need while taking on the delayed redemption risk.
The company claims this system could unlock more than $30 billion in tokenized RWA assets currently sitting idle within DeFi. This figure aligns with current market estimates, which value tokenized real-world assets at over $30 billion excluding stablecoins.
