Reform UK Ditches Crypto Ties in Bid for Mainstream Credibility
Reform UK is downplaying its ties to the crypto industry in an effort to rebrand itself as a more mainstream, internationally-recognized party. The party's conference next week will feature a lineup of major technology companies, construction firms, and international dignitaries, but none from the crypto sector.
Last year's conference was heavily dominated by crypto firms, with Zebec serving as a headline sponsor. However, this year, no crypto brands are listed as sponsors, and perks such as complimentary passes and private meetings with top party officials have been axed.
The party's treasurer, Nick Candy, pointed to the 'extraordinary' international engagement ahead of the conference, arguing that the diplomatic turnout underscores Reform's growing international influence. However, some businesses have expressed hesitation in attending due to concerns about being seen as validating the party's stance.
