Reform UK Lands Record £72 Million Crypto Donations Amid Election Controversy

Crypto billionaires Ben Delo and Christopher Harborne have donated £72 million to Reform UK, an anti-immigration party led by Nigel Farage. This is the largest ever donation to a UK political party, surpassing the total donations received by all parties in 2025.

Delo, co-founder of BitMEX, donated £36 million and Harborne matched that amount. Delo supports Reform UK's policies, stating they will attract investment, strengthen the economy, and fund public services.

The Liberal Democrats have expressed concerns about money's influence in British politics, warning that such large donations could corrupt elections. They called on Prime Minister Andy Burnham to cap donations to protect democracy.
