Reform UK Receives Record-Breaking £36 Million Crypto Donation

Share

Ben Delo, co-founder of cryptocurrency platform BitMEX, has donated £36 million to Reform UK, making it the largest single donation to a British political party on record.

The sum represents £1 million a month between now and the latest possible date of the next general election in 2029, but Delo made the payment upfront to avoid attempts to block it.

Reform UK leader Nigel Farage said he is 'humbled' by Delo's donation and added that his party is the only one that can 'turn the country around'.

The party has faced scrutiny over its finances, including an ongoing criminal investigation into allegations of breaching rules on political donations.

Labour spokespersons have criticized Farage's party for trying to buy its way out of questions about sleaze and dodgy finances.
