Reform UK Receives Record-Breaking £36 Million Donation from Crypto Billionaire

Crypto billionaire Ben Delo has donated £36 million to Reform UK, making it the largest donation in British political history.

The donation surpasses the previous record of £10m given to the Conservatives as a bequest in 2022. Delo's contribution comes after he recently moved back to the UK from Hong Kong and amid an investigation into Reform UK's funding practices.

Last year, Delo donated £4m to the party, but this latest donation dwarfs his previous contribution by a factor of nine. Reform UK leader Nigel Farage has welcomed the donation, saying that it shows confidence in the party's ability to turn the country around.

However, not everyone is convinced that Delo's donation will benefit the party. Professor John Curtice told the BBC that other parties may highlight Delo's previous conviction and the potential for 'dodgy forms of finance' to be seen as a hallmark of Reform UK's fundraising efforts.
