Remixpoint Abandons Altcoin Diversification for All-in-Bitcoin Strategy
Japanese company Remixpoint has made a significant shift in its cryptocurrency holdings. The firm sold off its entire portfolio of altcoins, including Ethereum (ETH), Solana (SOL), XRP, and Dogecoin (DOGE) on September 1, realizing a profit of ¥117.77 million ($598,400).
The move marks a reversal from Remixpoint's earlier strategy, which involved diversifying its crypto holdings to protect against currency weakness. However, after reassessing the market risks and volatility tied to holding multiple altcoins, the company opted for a 'selection-and-concentration' strategy, focusing solely on Bitcoin.
Remixpoint's leadership cited Bitcoin's ability to generate stable passive income through lending as the reason behind its decision. The firm's Bitcoin lending program accumulated 14.92 BTC in interest between February and August, generating ¥164.21 million ($834,300) without requiring any sale of the underlying asset.
The company now holds approximately 1,506 BTC, worth around $115M. Remixpoint plans to direct the realized profit towards its core energy business, expanding its fleet of industrial battery storage systems and strengthening its overall financial position.
