Remixpoint Abandons Altcoin Portfolio for All-Bitcoin Strategy
Japanese digital-asset treasury company Remixpoint has made a significant shift in its strategy by selling off all of its altcoins. The company, which is Japan's second-largest corporate Bitcoin holder after Metaplanet, disclosed that it sold its entire portfolio of Ethereum (ETH), Solana (SOL), XRP, and Dogecoin (DOGE) holdings for approximately $5.5 million on September 1.
The sale generated a net gain of about $737,000, with the biggest contributors being ETH and SOL. Remixpoint sold 901.45 ETH for around ¥353.4 million against a book value of ¥293.2 million, resulting in roughly ¥60.2 million in profit. The 13,920 SOL position was also sold for ¥227.9 million, producing another ¥49.3 million gain.
The company's decision to concentrate its cryptocurrency portfolio around Bitcoin is aimed at clarifying its investment strategy and improving capital efficiency. Remixpoint had previously accumulated a mix of altcoins alongside Bitcoin as part of a broader crypto treasury, but Bitcoin had already become overwhelmingly dominant before the sales.
