Retail Buying Frenzy Pushes Bitcoin to $77K Amidst $4.2B Liquidation Wave
Bitcoin's price surged above $77,000 on Friday morning, marking an important milestone in its current rally. The leading cryptocurrency's price gained over 8% in the last 24 hours, according to CoinGecko.
Ethereum, on the other hand, underperformed Bitcoin but still managed a 6.5% gain in the last 24 hours, pushing its price to around $2,500, a level not seen since April. XRP and Dogecoin outshone both Bitcoin and Ethereum, with XRP's price rising 18% and Dogecoin gaining over 10%.
The scale of the liquidation wave was significant, wiping out more than $4.2 billion in just two days, with over $1.4 billion lost in the last 24 hours alone. Despite this, retail sentiment on Stocktwits continued to improve, with Bitcoin and Ethereum trending in the 'extremely bullish' territory.
