Revolut Brings Banking and Blockchain Closer with EURR Launch
Revolut, a fintech company, has launched its euro-backed stablecoin called EURR. The launch is part of Revolut's strategy to bridge the gap between banking and blockchain technology.
The stablecoin was issued by Bridge Building, which is owned by Stripe. This partnership allows Revolut to focus on distribution, user experience, and product access via its banking app, while relying on specialized infrastructure provided by Bridge.
Revolut's strategy goes beyond EURR, as it is also exploring a sterling stablecoin in the UK through the Financial Conduct Authority's Regulatory Sandbox. The company aims to create a multi-currency infrastructure adapted for crypto transfers and uses.
In addition to stablecoins, Revolut is developing Revolut X, a platform that offers advanced trading features, including market orders and limit orders. Staking is also available on various networks, such as Ethereum, Solana, and Polkadot.
