Revolut Customers' Data Leaked by Attackers in Daily Online Releases
Revolut customers' sensitive data has been leaked online by attackers who claim to have obtained this information through a 'sophisticated external impersonation scam'. The leaked data includes selfies, copies of identity documents, and full transaction history, including records of Bitcoin transactions. According to an X post from International Cyber Digest, the attackers are threatening to release more customer data every day until Revolut pays them.
The exposed identity documents and facial-verification images could increase the risk of identity theft. The attackers reportedly said on Telegram that they 'will start releasing more and more data everyday until revolut pays for leaking their customers'.
Revolut initially reported that a 'limited number' of customers were affected by the breach, which occurred through a fake government email address. The company confirmed that its systems and customer funds are unaffected.
