Revolut Data Breach Exposes Sensitive Customer Information
A data breach at Revolut has compromised sensitive customer information, including ID documents, verification selfies, and Bitcoin transaction history. The stolen data has been publicly released, putting affected customers at risk of identity abuse.
The breach occurred when a forged request, masquerading as an official government inquiry, was sent to Revolut's systems. This allowed the attackers to access customer data, which has since been published online. Revolut has stated that no customer funds were compromised and their systems remain secure.
Affected customers are advised to take immediate action to protect themselves. This includes filing a police report, requesting a free copy of their credit file, and checking for any suspicious activity on their accounts. It is also recommended to close dormant registrations and enable two-factor authentication on active accounts.
