Revolut Data Leak Exposes Customers' Sensitive Information
A recent data leak from Revolut has exposed sensitive customer information, including Bitcoin transaction records and personal documents.
The incident began with hackers sending emails to Revolut customers, demanding payment in exchange for not releasing their private data. The attackers claimed to have access to identification documents, verification selfies, account statements, and IBANs (International Bank Account Numbers).
Revolut confirmed that no customer funds or private keys had been compromised, but the exposure of Bitcoin transaction histories poses a significant risk to users' financial security.
The attackers have since moved on to publishing customer data online, including information linked to high-profile clients such as tennis player Shevchenko and Römer, CEO of Gamdom/Skinscom. Revolut has stated that the incident was a well-planned outside spoofing attack, rather than a direct compromise of their main systems.
