Revolut Enters Stablecoin Market with EURR Euro-Pegged Token
Revolut has launched its first euro-backed stablecoin, EURR. This move marks a significant expansion of Revolut's presence in the crypto industry and positions it for broader growth across both the traditional market and the crypto ecosystem.
The EURR is designed to operate as a euro-pegged stablecoin, maintaining an equal value to €1. According to Revolut, this allows users with eligible status to move the digital euro token among cryptocurrencies, external wallets, and supported blockchain networks more easily.
Revolut has launched the stablecoin through its Digital Assets Europe Ltd, which is regulated as a MiCA crypto-asset service provider by the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CySEC). The asset has also been issued by Bridge Building S.A., a MiCA-regulated crypto-asset service provider and electronic money institution overseen by Luxembourg's Commission de Surveillance du Secteur Financier (CSSF).
