Revolut Hackers Demand $785.5 Million in Bitcoin Ransom

Revolut is facing a major crisis after hackers stole sensitive user data, including KYC information. The malicious actors claimed that Revolut shared this data with countries outside its jurisdiction, prompting them to demand a ransom of 10,000 BTC.

The hack, which occurred through an impersonation approach using a legitimate government agency website, exposed the data of high-profile individuals such as Gamdom CEO Roma and tennis player Shevchenko. The hackers have threatened to release more stolen data if Revolut fails to comply with their demand.

Revolut has stated that user funds were not affected by the hack, but the exposure of KYC data poses a significant risk to clients' privacy. Analysts warn that if more data is exposed, clients can be tracked down to their places of residence, potentially leading to kidnappings.
