The breach occurred when attackers posed as officials and sent fraudulent requests asking for customer information. They used an email address tied to a real government agency domain to trick Revolut into handing over user data.

The leaked files include full names, birth dates, addresses, account statements, and Bitcoin transaction history. The hackers have threatened to release more data daily until Revolut pays them.
