Revolut Hit by Government Email Scam Exposing Customer Data
Revolut has confirmed that customer data was leaked due to a sophisticated external impersonation scam. Attackers used an email address tied to a real government agency domain to send fraudulent requests asking for customer information.
The leaked data includes full names, birth dates, addresses, account statements, and Bitcoin transaction history. Only a limited number of customers were affected, and Revolut claims that funds and systems remain safe.
Hackers claim they will continue to leak more data every day until the company pays them. The threat was posted on Telegram, where attackers shared sensitive customer information, including identity documents and selfies of high-profile clients such as tennis player Alexander Shevchenko and Gamdom CEO Felix Römer.
