Revolut Hit with $780 Million Bitcoin Ransom Demand After Customer Data Leak

A sophisticated phishing attack on Revolut allowed hackers to obtain sensitive customer information, which they are now threatening to leak unless the bank pays them a staggering $780 million in Bitcoin.

The attackers used a legitimate government agency domain to pass security checks and request customer data. They obtained details such as names, dates of birth, addresses, email addresses, phone numbers, copies of passports, and driving licenses.

Revolut claims that only a 'very limited' number of customers were affected, but the breach has raised concerns about the bank's security measures. The hackers are demanding 10,000 BTC in exchange for not releasing additional customer data.
