Revolut Hit with Data Breach as Hackers Demand Payment
Revolut is facing a major data breach after hackers began publishing sensitive customer information online and threatening to release more every day unless the company pays up.
The attackers used a fake government email to submit fraudulent data requests, compromising Revolut's security systems.
The leaked data includes names, dates of birth, transaction histories, and Bitcoin records for a 'very limited' number of customers, who have been individually notified by the company.
Revolut stressed that its systems and customer funds remain unaffected, but security experts warn that exposed identity documents and facial-verification images raise the risk of identity theft for those affected.
