Revolut Inches Closer to US Banking Status with Conditional OCC Approval

Share

Revolut, a UK-based fintech company, has moved closer to becoming a full-service US bank after receiving conditional approval from the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC).

The proposed Revolut Bank US is targeting a first-half 2027 launch and will offer checking accounts, loans, credit cards, and foreign exchange services.

Stablecoins and broader crypto services are expected to follow once approved by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, the Federal Reserve, and final OCC clearance.

'Conditional OCC approval is an important first step towards establishing the proposed Revolut Bank US,' said founder and CEO Nik Storonsky.
