Revolut Launches Euro-Backed Stablecoin EURR
Revolut, a neobank, has launched its first euro-denominated stablecoin called EURR. The asset is fully compliant with the Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) regulation.
The issuer of EURR is Bridge Building S.A., a Stripe subsidiary that has obtained a license from Luxembourg's Commission de Surveillance du Secteur Financier (CSSF).
Revolut emphasized that EURR will provide access to onchain infrastructure by simplifying transfers between euros, cryptocurrencies, external wallets, and supported blockchain networks.
The new product will be offered by Revolut Digital Assets Europe Ltd, a virtual asset service provider under the supervision of Cyprus' regulator (CySEC).
At the initial stage, access to EURR will be granted to a limited set of customers in Denmark, Portugal, and Poland. The date of a full-scale launch has not been specified.
