Revolut Launches Euro-Pegged Stablecoin EURR in Three European Markets
Revolut has launched its first stablecoin, EURR, in three European Economic Area (EEA) markets: Denmark, Poland, and Portugal. The rollout is part of a broader strategy to offer region-specific, regulation-aligned tokens.
EURR is pegged to the euro and issued by Bridge Building S.A., a Luxembourg-based entity behind Bridge's stablecoin infrastructure. Revolut will integrate EURR into its retail app and support transfers across multiple blockchain networks, including sending funds to external wallets.
The company plans to expand access to additional EEA markets later in 2026, subject to product development, operational, and regulatory readiness. Revolut is withdrawing Tether's USDt from the EEA and Switzerland due to regulatory concerns and will convert remaining USDT balances into customers' base currencies after August 31.
EURR's launch marks an initial step towards a wider stablecoin strategy, including tokens in other currencies via separate regulatory pathways. Revolut aims to offer multiple currency stablecoins, but each additional token may come with its own integration timeline, network support, and transfer or limit rules.
