Revolut Nabs OCC Approval for US Banking Charter
Revolut, the London-based fintech firm serving 80 million users globally, has secured conditional approval from the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) to establish a US national bank charter.
The company aims to launch full banking operations in America during the first half of 2027, with a workforce of approximately 160 people based at its US headquarters in Stamford, Connecticut.
Revolut will offer checking accounts, credit cards, installment loans, foreign exchange services, and a digital stablecoin as part of its suite of services.
This approval marks Revolut's most significant market expansion to date, positioning the company alongside other notable OCC conditional charter recipients such as Coinbase, Paxos, BitGo, Ripple, and Circle.
