Revolut Rolls Out First Stablecoin in Europe with EURR Launch
Revolut has launched its first stablecoin, EURR, in Europe. The company began rolling out the euro-pegged token to selected customers in Denmark, Poland, and Portugal, with plans to expand to other European Economic Area markets later this year.
EURR is issued by Bridge Building and designed to maintain a value of €1 under MiCA requirements. The stablecoin will initially run on Ethereum, with external wallet transfers and more networks planned.
Revolut's head of crypto, Emil Urmanshin, said EURR connects the company's 80 million customers with onchain finance by combining its banking infrastructure with euro-denominated access to crypto markets.
