Revolut Unveils Euro Stablecoin EURR in Three EU Countries
Revolut has launched its euro-denominated stablecoin, EURR, in three European Union countries: Denmark, Poland, and Portugal. According to a previous report by Cointelegraph on August 25, Revolut initially rolled out the stablecoin to these markets.
The company plans to expand the service to other European Economic Area (EEA) countries later this year after completing regulatory preparations. EURR is issued by the Luxembourg unit of Bridge, a stablecoin infrastructure company owned by Stripe. The token is pegged one-to-one to the euro and held in line with the EU's Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) rules.
Revolut has also added trading services for EURR to its app, making it available to users in the EU. This move marks a significant development in the adoption of stablecoins by major financial institutions.
