Revolut Unveils EURR Stablecoin for Danish, Polish, Portuguese Customers
Revolut, a well-known digital banking and fintech company, has launched its first stablecoin called EURR. The euro-pegged token will be available to selected customers in Denmark, Poland, and Portugal.
The rollout is part of Revolut's broader strategy to expand its stablecoin offerings in the European Economic Area (EEA). The company plans to integrate EURR into its retail app and support multiple blockchain networks. External wallet transfers will also be available for select customers initially, with more users gaining access as liquidity builds.
EURR is issued by Bridge Building S.A., a Luxembourg-based entity owned by Stripe's stablecoin infrastructure provider, Bridge. The company claims that EURR maintains a value of one euro and is backed by reserves held and managed in accordance with the European Union's MiCA rules.
