Riot Platforms Lands $9.1 Billion Deal for AI Data Center Capacity with Anthropic

Riot Platforms has signed a massive $9.1 billion deal for AI data center capacity at its Rockdale campus in Texas, reportedly with Anthropic.

The 20-year agreement will deliver 191 MW of power to the tenant, which is expected to generate around $9.1 billion before June 2048 and up to $16.1 billion with two five-year extensions.

Riot plans to use mining proceeds from its Bitcoin operations to fund a $2.1-$2.3 billion AI buildout, which will support the company's transition into AI-focused infrastructure expansion and adoption.
