Riot Platforms Secures $9.1 Billion Data Center Lease Amid Q2 Revenue Growth
Riot Platforms, Inc., the parent company of Bitcoin mining operation Riot Blockchain, has made significant strides in its business. The firm announced that it had signed a landmark 20-year, 191 MW data center lease expected to generate $9.1 billion over the agreement's lifespan. This deal marks a major milestone for the company, with total contracted capacity now standing at 241 MW.
The data center lease is not the only notable development in Riot's Q2 financials. Revenue rose by 14% year-over-year to reach $174.2 million, driven primarily by growth in the Data Center and engineering segments. However, Bitcoin Mining revenue declined due to market conditions.
