Riot's Anthropic Deal Valued at $9.1B, May Reach $16.1B

Riot's recent agreement with Anthropic has sparked interest in the crypto community. According to reports, the 20-year deal is valued at near $9.1 billion and could reach up to $16.1 billion if extensions are made. The miner would dedicate approximately 191 megawatts of its Rockdale site to AI compute by June 2028.

The agreement has led some investors to reevaluate the value of miners, shifting their focus from being leveraged BTC proxies to owners of scarce power and data-center capacity. This potential shift could diversify cash flow and alter sell pressure, though execution risk remains significant.
