Ripple and Coincheck Partner for Integrated Custody Solutions in Asia
Ripple has partnered with SettleMint to provide financial institutions with a comprehensive solution for managing tokenized assets. The integration combines Ripple's institutional custody infrastructure, Ripple Custody, with SettleMint's Digital Asset Lifecycle Platform (DALP) to support the full lifecycle of tokenized assets.
The goal is to give institutions a more streamlined way to secure tokenized assets while supporting operational steps needed before, during, and after issuance. This includes handling workflows, controls, and ongoing management in a manner that aligns with enterprise requirements.
Just days earlier, Coincheck Group announced a separate partnership with DFNS to develop wallet technology and custody services for Japan. The DFNS model supports institutions with transaction lifecycle management, including workflow orchestration and governance controls delivered through a single platform that supports over 100 blockchain networks.
The emphasis on lifecycle management in both announcements highlights the need for regulated financial institutions to have coherent and auditable infrastructure when entering tokenized markets. As Japan's parliament has classified crypto assets as financial assets under its Financial Instruments and Exchange Act, custody providers must adapt how they safeguard assets, manage operational risk, and document processes.
