Ripple Backs Major Amendment for XRP Ledger Upgrade
Ripple has voted in favor of the Permission Delegation amendment, a key component of the XRP Ledger v3.3.0 upgrade.
The amendment allows delegation of specific transaction type permissions to other accounts, enhancing the flexibility and usability of XRPL accounts.
This is seen as an important step for regulated institutions to bring tokens on-chain, with Ripple's Jazzi Copper stating that 'tokens are the pre-requisite for on-chain utility; you can't move value without it existing on-chain first.'
The XRP Ledger v3.3.0 upgrade also includes other amendments and proposals in the voting stage, such as Confidential Transfer, BatchV1_1, DynamicMPT, and Sponsor.
Node operators are required to upgrade to the XRP Ledger 3.3.0 release to avoid getting amendment-blocked once the major upgrade is activated.
