Ripple Bolsters Stablecoin RLUSD with Ripple Mint and Notabene Deal
Ripple has made two significant announcements to boost its stablecoin RLUSD. The first is Ripple Mint, a platform that allows institutions to create, redeem, and bridge RLUSD programmatically through code. This feature addresses an existing problem with RLUSD's accessibility for institutional customers.
The platform enables teams to perform RLUSD operations within their own software, eliminating the need for manual intervention. Additionally, bridging now reaches further than before, with RLUSD available on multiple networks including Base, Optimism, Ink, and Unichain.
Ripple's investment in Notabene, a compliance network, is another key development. This deal plugs RLUSD into a network of 2,300 institutions handling $2 trillion annually across 100+ jurisdictions. The integration aims to address the trust issue surrounding stablecoin payments by providing real-time checks on recipient identities.
The XRP Ledger holds more RLUSD than any other network, and the Notabene deal is expected to increase activity on the ledger. While this development may have a positive impact on XRP in the long run, it primarily benefits Ripple's stablecoin business at present.
