Ripple Bolsters Tokenisation with UK Investments
Ripple has taken strategic investments in two British financial technology firms, ZILO and Licuido. The investments convert existing partnerships into equity stakes, allowing Ripple to put regulated fund record-keeping and collateral trading directly onto the XRP Ledger.
ZILO supplies digital transfer agency and fund administration software for asset managers, custodians, and transfer agents, including support for tokenised share classes. Founded in London in 2020 by Phil Goffin, ZILO has raised US$59.9 million across two funding rounds and counts State Street among its live clients.
Licuido runs a tokenisation and trading platform that handles issuance, distribution, and execution, allowing resulting tokens to act as collateral through onchain atomic settlement. Its markets arm operates as an appointed representative of Sapeno Partners LLP, authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority.
