Ripple Bolsters Tokenization Infrastructure with ZILO and Licuido Investments
Ripple has announced two strategic investments in ZILO and Licuido to enhance its regulated tokenization infrastructure for the XRP Ledger. According to a Ripple press release, these investments aim to solve the problem of what institutions can do with tokens after they are issued.
ZILO provides digital transfer agency and fund administration technology that enables asset managers and custodians to have modern record-keeping for tokenized share classes. Licuido handles the issuance, distribution, and execution of traditional financial assets so they can move as digital collateral through on-chain atomic settlement infrastructure.
Ripple's SVP of Trading and Markets, Nigel Khakoo, stated that 'tokenization of assets is only the starting point: the real value lies in what can be done with a token, including buying, selling, and settling trades instantly, or using it as collateral to borrow, lend, or post margin.'
XRP ETFs have seen positive inflows every month since their launch, with July contributing $27.29 million according to SoSoValue. The pace is decelerating but the direction has never flipped negative, pointing to steady institutional accumulation.
