Ripple Burns $15M in Latest Stablecoin Treasury Move
Ripple has made another significant move in its stablecoin treasury by burning 15 million RLUSD tokens, worth around $15 million. The transaction was confirmed on Ethereum earlier this week.
This burn is part of a larger trend of large minting and redemption transactions involving Ripple's stablecoin treasury. In the past few days alone, there have been several significant moves, including the minting of approximately 14.39 million RLUSD on September 8 and another 18 million RLUSD minted on Ethereum just a day earlier.
The latest burn is not necessarily a cause for concern, as large stablecoin burns are often simply a result of institutional demand. Tokens can be destroyed when customers redeem their holdings.
RLUSD's market capitalization has been steadily increasing, standing at around $2.42 billion on September 10, up from roughly $1.76 billion just two weeks prior.
