Ripple CEO Calls for Clarity in US Crypto Regulation Amid 75 Global Licenses
Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse has called for greater regulatory clarity in the US crypto market, highlighting the company's progress in securing licenses worldwide.
Garlinghouse rejected the notion that the cryptocurrency sector opposes regulatory oversight, stating that Ripple prefers to work within established environments rather than seek ways around them.
The CEO cited the company's 75 global licenses as evidence of its commitment to regulation, and emphasized the need for transparent guidelines to foster growth in the industry.
Garlinghouse also discussed the CLARITY Act, a proposed US bill aimed at providing a clear legal framework for classifying digital assets. He stated that Ripple has 'leaned in aggressively' to support the legislation, which seeks to establish comprehensive and consistent standards for cryptocurrency companies operating in the US.
