Ripple CEO Optimistic About Crypto's Future After Meeting with Trump
Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse spoke at length after attending a meeting with President Trump and executives from top crypto companies, including Coinbase and Gemini. The meeting took place at the White House and was organized by the Trump administration to discuss the future of digital assets in the US.
The gathering focused on the CLARITY Act, a key piece of legislation that has failed to gain traction due to disagreements over ethics provisions, stablecoin rewards, and tokenized equities. Garlinghouse noted that the legislation has passed the House of Representatives but stalled in the Senate.
Despite the challenges, Garlinghouse expressed optimism about the future of crypto in the US, stating that '1 in 4 Americans own digital assets' and that Washington is aware of the growing influence of the crypto voter. He praised President Trump's commitment to innovation and leadership around digital assets, calling it 'profound.'
