Ripple CEO's White House Visit Highlights Shift in Company's Washington Presence
Ripple's position in Washington has undergone significant changes after years of battling the Securities and Exchange Commission. A White House photograph shows Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse standing beside President Donald Trump during a CFTC Innovation Advisory Committee launch on August 19.
The CFTC officially appointed Garlinghouse to its Innovation Advisory Committee, alongside executives from major financial and crypto companies such as Coinbase, Nasdaq, CME Group, Cboe, DTCC, Grayscale, Franklin Templeton, and others.
Garlinghouse was originally named to the body in February, while its charter was renewed on August 19. This marks a significant shift for Ripple, which has been actively involved in discussions shaping the next generation of U.S. financial regulation.
