Ripple Clarifies RLUSD Stablecoin Rules Amid Regulatory Scrutiny
Ripple has clarified the regulatory framework for its RLUSD stablecoin, highlighting key differences in licenses, reserve requirements, and oversight.
The RLUSD stablecoin is issued under a New York trust charter with segregated reserves, which provides an additional layer of protection for holders.
In contrast, Ripple's proposed federal trust bank for RLUSD has only received conditional approval pending final regulatory steps.
Ripple also emphasized that CFTC collateral rules for derivatives are separate from issuer supervision, providing further clarity on the regulatory landscape for RLUSD.
