Ripple CTO Emeritus Defends XRP Ledger Against 'Ghost Chain' Claims
Ripple's XRP Ledger (XRPL) has been at the center of recent debate regarding its transaction dynamics. According to Ripple CTO Emeritus David Schwartz, the ledger is not a 'ghost chain' dominated by bots and automated transactions.
He emphasized that XRPL's low transaction fees encourage both high-value and low-value activities, which is a feature rather than a flaw.
The ledger supports a wide range of uses including tokenized real-world assets worth about $458 million and represented assets valued at $4.06 billion.
Schwarz also noted that AI agents have conducted over 4.8 million transactions on XRPL, using XRP and RLUSD for digital service payments, showing the network's expanding role beyond traditional human payments.
