Ripple Dominates XRP Supply in 2026, Top Holders Control 64%
The distribution of XRP ownership remains heavily concentrated in 2026, according to data from XRPSCAN. The top 10 known holders control roughly 64% of the cryptocurrency's total supply, with Ripple dominating at nearly 40%. This figure includes 35.7 billion XRP held in escrow.
The second-largest concentration is among exchanges, including UPbit, Coinbase, Binance, and others, which collectively hold billions of XRP on behalf of customers. While these balances may not represent direct ownership, they do indicate a significant amount of the supply is being held by a relatively small group of entities.
XRPSCAN groups accounts linked to the same entity when ranking holders, which explains why Ripple's 39.95% share consists mostly of escrowed XRP rather than immediately available tokens. Similarly, exchanges' balances represent customer assets rather than their own holdings.
