Ripple Donates $300,000 for Flood Relief in Nepal and Tibet
Ripple has committed $300,000 to emergency relief efforts in Nepal and Tibet following catastrophic flash floods that struck the region on August 26. The donation will fund food distribution, clean water access, and sanitation services for communities devastated by what has become one of the deadliest natural disasters in the region in recent memory.
The floods were triggered by a glacial collapse along the Nepal-Tibet border, causing widespread destruction and displacement. According to UNICEF, over 17,000 children have been directly affected by the flooding, and the agency has issued an urgent appeal for $17.2 million to address immediate humanitarian needs.
Ripple is channeling its donation through two established humanitarian organizations: World Central Kitchen and Mercy Corps. Both organizations have deep experience operating in disaster zones and will work to get resources to people cut off by destroyed infrastructure.
