Ripple Doubles Down on US Sports Presence with New Partnership
Ripple has expanded its presence in US sports, doubling down on its previous partnership with the Kansas Jayhawks by collaborating with the Florida Gators.
The company behind XRP announced the new partnership less than two months after teaming up with the Kansas Jayhawks, which represents the University of Kansas and has won 15 national championships, including 12 NCAA Division I titles. Ripple's CEO holds a personal connection to the university, having been raised in the state and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from there.
As part of the agreement with the Florida Gators, XRP's logo will be displayed on the team's ground, generating $5 million annually for the team. The first game featuring the logo will take place tonight at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium, where the Florida Gators will face off against the Florida Atlantic Owls.
In addition to this new partnership, Ripple will also serve as the headline sponsor of Stable Launch, Stablecon USA's startup competition. As part of this role, Whittney Levitt from Ripple will join the judging panel and help select the winning startup, which will receive a $200,000 investment.
