Ripple Empowers Treasury Teams With AI-Driven Insights and Human Oversight
Ripple has expanded its GSmart platform to include AI agents that monitor corporate treasury operations and recommend actions under company-defined policies. These agents cannot execute transactions independently, but rather send proposed actions to authorized personnel for review.
The expansion advances a broader corporate finance strategy that includes the January launch of Ripple Treasury, which combines conventional cash management with infrastructure for digital assets such as RLUSD and XRP.
Renaat Ver Eecke, senior vice president of Ripple Treasury, emphasized the importance of governance in AI decision-making: 'Rather than asking customers to blindly trust an AI system, GSmart works within each organization's own treasury policies to surface recommendations transparently.'
According to Gartner, global Fortune 500 enterprises are projected to use over 150,000 AI agents by 2028, but only 13% of organizations believe they have appropriate governance in place.
