Ripple Expands into Private Credit Market with Upgraded XRP Ledger
Ripple is making a significant move into the private credit market, which is worth tens of billions of dollars. The company is leveraging upgrades to the XRP Ledger to enable this expansion.
The two key protocols at the center of this push are Cicada and Clearpool. They allow for institutional credit tokenization directly on Ripple's blockchain.
Ripple is positioning its infrastructure as a settlement layer for tokenized private credit, with an estimated market size of over $10 billion in on-chain assets. This move creates a new source of demand for XRP, as every loan transaction and tokenized credit settlement consumes the token in network fees.
