Ripple Expands RLUSD Issuance on XRP Ledger Amid Ongoing Supply Adjustments
Ripple has expanded its issuance of RLUSD on the XRP Ledger, which has been slow in recent times. On August 17, Ripple issued $10 million worth of RLUSD, followed by an additional $20 million just hours later.
The move is seen as more than just a simple expansion of RLUSD supply, as Ripple also continued to burn RLUSD on the Ethereum network. In fact, on the same day, it burned $10 million on Ethereum and then issued another $20 million on the XRP Ledger just a few hours later.
This indicates that Ripple is actively reshuffling its RLUSD supply between networks. According to community-based tracking platform RL Tracker, the net increase in RLUSD supply over the past 30 days was larger on Ethereum, with a total of $203 million issued and $176 million burned for a net increase of $27 million.
However, the RLUSD balance is currently higher on the XRP Ledger than on Ethereum, with $879,499,000 held on the XRP Ledger compared to $851,518,000 on Ethereum. The market will be watching closely to see if Ripple shifts its focus back to the XRP Ledger or maintains the current structure alongside Ethereum.
